Outlet at Edgeworth WWTW became blocked which resulted in clarifier overflowing. Overflowing effluent flowed through the plants stormwater culverts and discharged into Cockle Creek at a point other than the point specified in licence.

A valve controlling bypass of treatment process failed as a result of PLC error, when plant was unattended. This resulted in flow being bypassed whilst the inflow was less than 582 L/s. The bypassed flow did not receive biological treatment.
